The author's attitude towards actions or events in the story are happy, because most of the scences were not sad or dreadful, most of the events happened in the story are happy.

2. Is the story humorous or tragic or frightening? Does the author want you to laugh or cry, to feel happy or sad, to experience anger or fear?
The story was humorous, it was not tragic or frightening at all. The author wants us to laugh and cry at the same time and also to feel happy to the main character's new life and to feel sad to the character which Lalla left him. It is actually depending on different points of views, some people can feel happy with Lalla and some people can also feel sad for Allan.

3. What is the author's attitude toward characters or the narrator? Does the author like or dislike, trust or mistrust the charcters or the narrator?
The author's attitude toward the charcters was happy and frightening, the author wants the character to be happy at the end but she has made the characters felt in some conflicts first. The author's also wanted the narrator to be a little shocked and confused, the author didn't really like the character because she has not given enough information to the narrator to give to the readers. The author do trust both the characters and the narrator.

Symbolism Questionaires

There are two main guys in the story who act as symbols in the story. The first guy is
Allan, he engaged with the main character, Lalla and he symbolizes money, success and London. The second guy is Godfrey, Godfrey symbolizes true love of Lalla, because they met for a long time and at the end Lalla also came back to Cornwall for Godfrey.

Imagery Questionaires

1. What scences, moments, descriptive passages, phrases, or words stand out in your reading of the story?
The scene was in page 337, paragraph 4-5, where it says "When the night of the dance came, we put on our dresses and set off together in Mother's Mini, giggling slightly with nerves. But when we reached the Menheniots' house, we stopped giggling because the whole affair was so grand as to be awesome. There wwere floodlights and car parks and hundreds of sophisticated-looking people all making their way towards the front door. Indoors, we stood at the foot of the crowded staircase, and I was filled with panic. We knew nobody. There was not a single familiar face. Lalla whisked a couple of glasses of champagne from a passing tray and gave me one."

2. Did a particular image make you feel happy, or frightened, or disturbed, or angry? Why?
It makes me feel happy, I can imagine this passage immediately after I read it, because I have seen so  many scenes like this in the movies. I can easily imagine the scence. I am happy because I feel like watching the movie that I like while reading this passage.

3. Which of your five senses did this image appeal to? What do you associate witht this image, and why? What do you think the author wants you to feel about a certain image?
I think the hearing part most appeal to this passage, because the scence was set in a party and I imagined it that this party is full with noises. I think it's actually appeal to all the senses because it was also talking about drinking champaigne so I can also feel it. I think the author wanted the reader to feel how newvous the sisters were at this moment, because it was explaining about how they were nervous because of this ball.

4. How do you think that your reactions to the imagery in the story contribute to the overall meaning of the story?
I think that the overall meaning of the story was trying to focus on the love of Lalla, and this scene was the scene that led Lalla to meet with the two guys that will become her love and they will act out the story together. My reaction led to know how they feels about this party and how they are going to feel later on during the party which they will also feel almost the same way with the guys that will come in the main character's life.

Point of View Questionaires

1. What point of view does trhe story use? Is the story told froma first-person perspective, in which the narrator is one of the characters in the story, and refers to himsef as "I"? Or is the story told from a third-person perspective, in which the narrator is not one of the characters in the story or may not participate in the events of the story?
The point of view is first-person persective but the main character "Lalla" is not the narrator, but her sister "Jane" is. Jane refers to herself as "I".

2. What are the advantages  of the chosen point of view? Does it furnish any clues as to the purpose of the story?
The advantages are that the story was not told by the main character's point of view so we could see what others really think of the main character, but if the story was told by the main character herself, we wouldn't be able to really see her personality.

3. Is the narrator reliable or unreliable? Does he/she have a limited knowledge or understanding of characters and events in the story? Does the narrator know almost everything about one character or every character, including inner thoughts?
The narrator is realiable, I think she has a limited knowledge since she's not the main character, so what she does was just telling the reader about what she heard from the main character, not what she has experienced. She doesn't really know the inner thoughts of any character that much.

4. Does the author use point of view primarily to reveal or conceal? Does he ever unfairly withhold important information known to the focal character?
The author use this point of view to mostly reveal not to conceal. I think Jane do not hold any information, since she is not really the one acting out the story, but she is just the one to tell the story that she knew from the main character to the readers.

Characters Questionaires

1. Who is/are the main character(s) in the story? What does the main character look like?
The main characters are Lalla, Jane, Allan and Godfrey. Jane is not actually the main character who acts out the story but she is the narrator while Lalla is actually the one who acts out the story and Allan and Godfrey are mostly get involved with her. They look like a normal family without any complicated situations, since they are also living in a county not a big city where people easily get troubles.

2. Describe the main charcter's situation. Where does he/she live? Does he/she live alone or with others? What does the main character do for a living, or is he/she dependent on others for support?
Lalla lives with her family in Cornwall, they had to move from London to Cornwall becaue her father has passed away and her mother alone couldn't afford the family in London. Lalla is dependent on others for support, because she didn't really have her situation alone thoughout the story but she acts the story with mostly two guys.

3. What are some of the chief characteristics (peresonality traits) of the character? How are these characteristics revealed in the story? How does the main character interact with other characters? Note the degree of complexity of his/her behavior, thought, and feelings; their appearances, their habits, mannerisms, speech, attitudes and values. What is the main character's attitude towards his/her life? Is he/she happy or sad, content or discontented? Why?
Lalla is a beautiful girl that does not easily interact with other people. So thoughout the story, she didn't really get to know others first and other characters are the ones who came to her first. The characteristics of Lalla in the story got her to get involved in some conflict at the end of the story. Lalla knew that she is beautiful and that everyone wanted to know her so it also makes her acts that way, so she was happy and contented in the story.

4. What sort of conflict is the charcter facing? How is this conflict revealed? Is it resolved? If so, how?
Lalla's conflict was that she needed to choose between coming two guys. Whether she will decide to come back to Cornwall for Godfrey or stay with Allan in London which Allan is also wealthy but Godfrey was not really as wealthy as him. Lalla decided to broke her engagement with Allan, she left London and come back to Cornwall so the conflict was resolved.

5. Is any character a developing character? If so, is this change a large or a small one? Is it
a plausible change for him? Is he sufficiently motivated? Is the change given sufficient time?
Since the period of the story happens during the time when Lalla was 14 and she was becoming a woman, so she is a developing character. It changes her life when she decided to engage with Allan and moved to London with him, it was not really a sufficiented motivated because this cause a conflict in the story.

Plot Questionaire

1. What is the story about? What are they main events in the story, and how are they related to each other?
The story was about a famiy that just had their father passed away, this family have three children. The oldest one is a girl her name is Lalla, and Jane or the narrator and Barney is a boy. This family lived in London but when the father died, the mother couldn't afford ther family to stay in London, so they decied to move to Cornwall. Lalla was against this at first because she was about to do the O levels next year. When they moved to Cornwall, they met a family called the Royster family. The Royster family has two sons, they were not friends with each other at first until Lalla and her family met Godfrey or the cousin of the Royster. They play together and became friends after that. Godfrey was about to start his college and since he did not live in Cornwall, so when he left, Lalla and Godfrey write letters to each other. One day, an invitation letter to a ball came to Lalla. Lalla and Jane got invited to a ball and they went together. At the ball, Lalla met her friend from London, her name is Rosemary and Rosemary has a brother, Allan. Lalla makes friends with Allan, and one day when she was grown, she move to London to stay with Rosemary and Allan. Lalla got engaged to Allan. Lalla got a job as an editor for a fashionable magazine and a model since she has a beautiful face and body. One day Lalla left a letter to Allan, saying that she is broken off their engagement, she did not want to get marry yet. Lalla came back to Cornwall to see her siblings and her mother. Lalla met with Godfrey, and she knows that Godfrey was the right person for her.
The main events of the story is about Lalla's life, as she grows up and move from one place to another. The main point was about her decision, she may made a wrong decision at first by choosing to stay with Allan instead of Godfrey.

2. Are the main events of the story arranged chronologically, or are they arranged in another way?
The main events of the story arranged chronologically, as I can cleary see from how the narrator has described the life of Lalla, as she grows from a girl to a woman.

3. How is the story narrated? Are flashbacks, summaries, stories within the story used?
The story was narrated in Jane's point of view. jane is not the main story, Lalla is. Jane described everybody by her point of view which is showing eveyone every sides of the character that are the main characters. Flashbacks, summaries and stories withing the story are not used that much.

4. Is the plot fast-paced or slow-paced?
The plot is obviously fast-paced, I can cleary see it from how Lalla has grown within the story without so many description.

5. How do the thoughts, behaviours, and actions of characters move the plot forward?
The characters act out the story,  mostly Lalla's actions move the plot forward. The story was mostly described Lalla's actions as she grow from a girl to a woman, she moves the plot forward.

6. What are the conflicts in the plot? Are they physical, intellectual, moral or emotional? Are they resolved? How are they resolved? Is the main conflict between good and evil sharply differentiated, or is it mroe subtle and complex?
The conflict happened when Lalla got an invitation to a ball, she met Allan there, while Godfrey went looking for her and Godfrey was about to purpose Lalla but Lalla vanished with Allan and they moved together and got engaged. The conflict was emotional. The conflict was resolved at the end of the story, Lalla decided to leave Allan and came back to Cornwall to meet Godfrey.

7. What is the climax of the story and at what point in the story does the climax occur? Is the ending of the story happy, unhappy or indeterminate? Is it fairly achieved?
The climax occured when Lalla moved to London with Allan and Rosemary. There she was engaged with Allan, and it was the time when she realize that Godfrey was meant to be with her not Allan. The ending was a happy ending, because Lalla was with Godfrey after he left Allan at the end of the story.

8. Does the plot have unity?  Are all the episodes relevant to the total meaning or effect of the story? Does each incident grow logically out of the preceding incident and lead naturally to the next?
The plot has unity, the main story was about Lalla, and she has  been growing, meeting people and also moving from place to place. The conclusion is that Lalla will be with Godfrey like the author has given the hint at the beginning of the story.

9. What use does the story make of chance and coincidence? Are these occurrences used to initiate, to complicate, or to resolve the story? How improbable are they?
The use of chance and coincidence were both made to complicate and to resolve the story. From a scence that Allan and Godfrey happened to be together was making a conflict, and then when Allan was with Lalla, they conflict was resolved.
